“Merseyside’s Attic Theory describe themselves as an “alternative groove band” and they brought some thoughtful, bass-heavy, prog-adjacent alt-metal to the party. Singer Lewis Wright has the look of a Van Zant brother and a warm voice to go with it which he delivers through a double-barrelled mike stand. The band did not have a printed set list as apparently guitarist Tim was suffering PTSD after being attacked by a ghost in Dumfries the previous night (stay off the cheese & onion crisps fella). The single ‘Papier-Mâché’ was a highlight and these guys will definitely appeal to fans of bands like Empyre.”
